Please I need help on applying for a job as a gym instructor. What should my letter be like? Can someone help me to draft something that can stand out from the crowd? It will be highly appreciated. I have a BSC in human kinetics and one year experience in the field. The letters I have tried to write are not captivating enough, hence my coming here.

What is the gym you are applying to like. Who is going to get the letter, a HR person, a manager, a person who actually does Gym work.

A HR person will be looking at professional style, good printing, even high quality paper.

A owner and business person, may be looking at how you can improve earnings and bring in customers.

The person that actually does the work in gym will be looking at who your certification is from, it is a real legit company, that you did, or some mail order certificate. They will look at reference from old job. And look for descriptions of what you are doing.

I hereby humbly apply for the position of a gym instructor in the fitness centre of this institution.
I have a Bsc second hand class honours upper division in human kinetics and health education and poses a vast amount of knowledge in the field having carried out the duties required of a gym instructor effectively in the one year period I served as a corp member in this institution.
If given the oppurtunity to continue my service here in the capacity of a staff, I promise to take the administration of the fitness centre of this institution to a higher level.
It will be really appreciated if this application is considered duely.

The gym is just a small unit in a very large institution. The management of the institution is still incharge of it. I am the only expert that has ever ran the gym as I was the first person put in charge of it just that I was put there as a corp member on community service my service there is over now so I want to apply to become a full time salary based staff.

Some countries prefer a C.V. which is more detail than a resume. A resume is short and with few details -- details about accomplishments, abilities, and skills mostly.

I can help you with either one. (I have been helping people with them since 1985. You probably were not born yet.)

Here is what I would do in your case -- I would type up a resume with lots of white space, very brief but pithy and full of specific and important information as to how you can increase profits, heighten awareness of customer service needs, and promote the institution. This is what I would submit first with hopes it would get me an interview. It will be easy to read quickly and eye catching. It would also guide what they ask at the interview. Resume = French for summary.

THEN, when you go to the interview, have a C.V. available and leave that with them at the end to give more information and to remind them of what was discussed (or not discussed) at the interview.

Hahaha. You are correct anyway. I was born 1989. I think a cv is what I need. Please can you guide me on how to prepare one. I have an idea though but I will prefer an expert's way of doing it.
