16 hp Vanguard engine on a portable bandsaw saw mill. Last fall it acted like it was not getting gas from the pump and tank. If I poured a small amount of gas into the intake manifold it started and ran until the gas was consumed. I ordered a new pump, but it made no difference. This mill has a large remote fuel tank and depending on how large a diameter log is being cut, the actual lift of fuel will be higher until the log is reduced by removing slabs of wood in the sawing process. If I can keep it all stock, I will, but am wondering about a small electric fuel pump in place of the original equipment. Any suggestions ? Thank you.

Hi,
I believe that I would clean the fuel system thoroughly and replace the lines and filter and clean and kit the carb prior to trying an electric fuel pump. If that fails, and I doubt it will, then you can take a trip to your local Napa store.
Peace,
Clarke

Thank you for the help. I forgot to mention that I put a new fuel filter on already. I will follow the rest of your instructions. Thank you.
Peace be to you.
