Upon selecting a roommate I was up front about the conditions and what I needed in a roommate. I told her I'm working 3 jobs and a full-time doctoral student. I need a quiet place to study and sharing of cleaning the place. I'm a very clean, quiet respectful adult. I asked for a schedule so using the bathroom would not be an issue. She said she could work around that and a schedule was not necessary. She agreed to my terms but after 4 months and asking her to communicate about issues that came she would not discuss. I knocked on her door to talk and she would not answer. I yelled at her and her not communicating went to zero. She does not pick up and clean after she cooks. Counters are dirty and dishes left in the sink, she takes several days to do her laundry and ties up bring able to use it... I try really hard to stay on top of things to meet the demands of my schedule. I can't live with a 34 year old lazy, slob. I feel like the "odd couple". I've placed two ads for roommates to replace me. She does not respect my things. Expensive things at that, which I've worked long and hard for... She is living exactly how she wants and I can't do the same. I need peace, quiet and a orderly place. She knew this from day one.

What is your legal question? Or any question? Who is on the lease, and what are the terms?

Tenant law goes by state (in the US). You can't just evict someone for being a slob. In general, tenant agreements need to be in writing, and being neat and respectful isn't easily defined anyway. You say you are trying to move out by finding a replacement? Fine - is that OK with the landlord?

Welcome to average life of having a room mate.

So you are renting to them, you given them written notice that they must move ( normally 30 days) and if they do not move evict them. If this is a month to month agreement, you in most places do not have to give them a reason to require them to move

Sounds like she is your landlord. Did you sign a lease? If so, when does it expire?
