Last week. The blood test came back and her doctor told her she has simplex herpes. All her blood test over the last 20 years never showed the condition.

I am puzzled

We all have herpes simplex or cold sore virus on us, but when stressed or run down it can form cold sores around the mouth or in it. It's no big deal. Put a little astringent on it and it will go away soon.
(Genital herpes is a different virus.)
