I am recently divorced. In the divorce paper my ex is to pay all the debt including my credit cards. Before my divorce we enter agreement with debt management co. to reduce the amt of payment each month. In the meantime one credit card co. refuse to deal with debt management co. and has now filed for a judgement against me. I have answered the court with agreement with the debt management company, also stated the I do not deny the debt but asked what their rationale was for not dealing with them. To which the never responded. I sent this to the court and to the lawyer register letter. Nows what is my next step should I send my divorce papers to the court?

I have moved your post to a new post, this way it can get more answers.

First remember the credit card company has no obligtaion to work with a debt management company, since normally the debt management requires them to settle for less than full value, and they just don't have to.

So I am not sure what you wish to prove by sending this, I am not sure, since it only shows you do agree with the debt being valid and did not pay them because they were not part of the plan,

Next I am not sure what you want to prove with your divorce papers either, what does that have to do with your debt, if in the divorce the other party is suppose to be paying part of the debt, you need to file suit against the ex yourself, but it does not take away your obligation to pay.

So to be honest the credit card company that would not agree does not have to tell you why they won't since they are not required to. So what they want from you is an answer as to why you are not paying them, period, only thing they care about.

I am sorry but I just don't see what you are doing is helping with this, have you make them any direct offers for making payments to them, have they turned that down,

My divorce stipulated that my ex-husband was to pay certain joint debts, and I was to pay certain joint debts. I paid those I was responsible for. My ex didn't.

When it affected my credit report/rating, I contacted the companies and sent them a copy of my divorce decree. They just laughed at me. My name was still legally on the documents taking out the loans, so I was still legally responsible.
