I was Brought up in a fake name (my mums boyfriend) and only realised this at the age 21 that it wasn't my name on my birth certificate. Only problem is I've took every qualification, GCSE and Bricklaying courses in the wrong name. So Legally I have no documents to say that I took those exams and now have no qualifications to my name so I can't get a job. Please help if anyone know any idea on what to do?

Would changing your legal name to the name you grew up with do the trick? You will need to tell us where you are located so someone familiar with how it works in your state or country can help give advice - the UK perhaps?

The Depol has A Date onit so I doubt it as it will prove that I didn't take the exams in the right legal name. I'm from leicestershire in england.

I'm confused - you use the "fake name." You took the courses in the "fake name." You would have certificates in the "fake name."

Why would you now be seeking employment in your "real name?"

I've never been asked to show my birth certificate when I applied for a job.

What about your formal government ID, don't you have one, and what name is it in.

But yes, hiring a solicitor and going to court to correct the birth certificate, and/or a name change would be the easiest route.

What form of ID did you use to sit for the exams
