I just found out that I am pregnant. I got confirmed by my doctor then that night I started spotting a little bit and cramping on and off. The spotting was just light pink and the cramping was intermidant. I went to the hospital because I was concerned. They did and internal exam and said my cervix was still closed. My blood tests said that my hormone levels were low but that could be because Of the fact that I'm so early in pregnancy. They sent me for an altrosound. They did an internal altrosound and were unable to see anything. She said that could also be because I was so early. They sent me home. The bleeding completely stopped until today (found out 3 days ago) when it the spotting started getting a little darker. It's not heavy enough to wear a pad and there is no clotting. My cramping is very minimal. I stopped taking birth control pills about 3 days before I found out and I was wondering I I could be having these symptoms because of the fact that I would be due for a period after quitting my pills? Also how likely is it that I am miscarrying?

It's not advisable to take birth control while pregnant, but it happens all the time, usually with no lasting effects.

If you're bleeding heavily and cramping, then you should see your doctor as soon as possible. Any bleeding during pregnancy needs to be seen to by a doctor.

There's no way to determine if you're miscarrying. Some women have bleeding throughout their pregnancies and carry to term. Others miscarry. A doctor is the only one that can determine what's going on.

It's unlikely that this bleeding is because of the pill.

Good luck.
