Hello my name is Grant and I am 14 years old. About 5 days ago I was playing basketball and got punched in the throat. After I got hit it hurt really bad, but started feeling better. Now it is still hurting somewhat and whenever I eat or drink something I am getting gas and it is making my stomach hurt. I can feel a sharp painful air pocket in my throat every time I swallow then I get gas. It also sometimes feels like the food gets stuck in my throat too. What really worries me is why I keep swallowing air whenever I eat something or drink something. I am worried that something in my throat is not right but I do not know. Also mucus keeps globing up in the back of my throat and when I swallow it feels like it is still there and I have to swallow again. I have not gone to any doctors yet, but still I am super worried that there is now something wrong with my throat because it got hit and that is why I keep swallowing air. Can you please tell me what you think I should do hearing from what I have told you please please answer me I am so worried and scared and upset. Please help!

You should go see a doctor as soon as possible.
You could have injured your windpipe or the cricoid cartilage.
Only a doctor can tell. So go see one!

Yes, but what if it is nothing I usually over think things thinking it is the worst possible problem. How could the doctor tell anyway and what if there was something wrong how would they fix it please answer ASAP I am only 14 and my parents say I am fine and I am really worried

The doctor can tell from your symptoms and examining your throat if something is wrong. He can also do an x-ray to check the cartilage.
Again, I strongly recommend you see a doctor. And if it's just to be sure that nothing is wrong (although I believe you have some damage, but I'm not a doctor).
I wouldn't take chances with an injury to the throat and your parents shouldn't either

What if there is something wrong with my throat how would they fix it would it just heal by itself or what. I heard of Boxers and MMA fighters getting hit in the throat before and they are fine. My parents say I am fine and will not make me a doctors appointment. I am really worried though I do not want damage to my throat unless it could be fixed back to normal. Will I be fine if I did have damage to my throat. Thanks for answering me to I really say thanks can you answer me again please

I can't give you any details about what a doctor might do, that would depend on what kind of damage and what's the extend. And again, I'm not a medical doctor.
You could call the nurse on call at your doctors office or the hospital.

I also believe you should see your doctor for a complete evaluation & to make sure every thing is fine. The fact that you have difficulty in breathing and discomfort during swallowing might even suggest a trip to the ER. You definitely need to rule out any internal injury to the throat. Your hyoid bone may have gotten injured and soft tissue bruised. You don't want to ignore this and end up with problems for the rest of your life.

I am not having too much troble breathing, but if I go to doctor this week and there was something wrong do you think I will make a full recovery? Like what could it be just brusied or hurt and it neexs to heal please answer me ASAP thanks
grant13579
Oct 7, 2012, 07:45 PM
Could it just be bruised like what do you think is wrong as just a guess please tell me please thanks
Wondergirl
Oct 7, 2012, 07:49 PM
Full recovery, probably, but I am not a doctor and I haven't examined your injury. You can take that chance that it will be okay, but I wouldn't. I have no idea what the doctor would do or how he would treat you. I do know a friend had fallen down the basement stairs when she was a girl, and her parents told her she would be okay and didn't take her to the doctor. It turned out she had broken a bone in her foot which healed badly and she has a limp to this day.
You may have trouble eating for the rest of your life if you don't get this looked at and dealt with.

If you have trouble breathing, you should tell your parents to take you to the ER.

Will your parents take you to the ER?
Make yourself a cup of tea and drink it slowly as hot as you can stand it. You have may to sleep sitting up tonight -- in a recliner?

Bottom line is this. Not even a doctor can tell you what's going on over the internet. A doctor has to examine you, figure out what's going on, and then decide what to do about it.
We can't tell you what the injury is, we can't tell you what will need to be done to fix it, we can't tell you if you'll make a full recovery, we can't tell you if it will heal on its own.
You need to see a doctor, and your parents are responsible for taking you, that's what being a parent is about. If they won't take you and you're having issues, that's child neglect.

Don't drink milk or eat milk products. That will make the mucus worse. Keep drinking tea and avoid food except for something like applesauce or Jello or something that will slide down and not cause as much gas.
I'll be here for a few hours yet and will watch for your posts. Let me know how it's going.

I ate a lot of milk products today such as ice cream grilled cheese cream cheese that could have done it to be honest it is just the thought of me having something wrong like not being able to swallow the mucus which makes me freak out then I have a panic attack then I freak out even more thinking I am dying because of panicing its not fun you ever have anything happen to you like this before

Kiddo, you shouldn't be dealing with this on your own, and it really makes me mad that your parents aren't taking your fear seriously. I wish I could be there, I'd take you straight to the hospital, if only to put your fears to rest.
You're not going to die. You'll be okay. You do need to see your doctor, and you need to figure out what's going on, but you'll be fine tonight. Really you will.
Don't panic, panic will only make it worse. I realize that you're young, you're scared, and you don't have any support. That's scary in itself, but you'll be okay.
Panic attacks are very scary, I've only had one in my life, and it happened at work. My boss ended up calling an ambulance, they thought I was having a heart attack. Panic attacks are very real, and very scary. You have to calm yourself down, since you don't have an adult that can help you. You can do this kiddo.
Get some sleep. Prop some pillows under your head so that you're almost in a sitting position, that will help with the mucus, and the breathing. Breath slowly, and don't panic, you're going to be just fine, and you're going to the doctor tomorrow, okay?
Now off to bed. Get some rest, and stop worrying.

Yes. I was hit square in the nose with a softball (I was the pitcher at the time) and thought I would never be able to breathe again. Also, labor with my first baby wasn't a walk in the park. :)

Oh you I am 14 and have never really had anyone on my side. When I was younger my parents would beat the out of me and tell me how I am going to be a loser who is a worthless piece of and will end up in jail. People think they know me, but they don't really know me. I try to have fun really my brother came over this weekend and he has issues to with his childhood he is younger I took him out to get food and then we went to the dollar store and got silly string and sprayed each other walking home laughing while everyone was looking just me and my brother having fun. My parents are divorced I live wjth my dad who has a wife who hates me and today said she hopes I burn in hell. My sister aleays tries to put me down and my family thinks I am crazy. I feel like I am in my own world and everyone's against me I dream of doing something great to change this world for the better I have a heart I am not cold as a stone. I am no angel neither though I have gotten in fights before curseouts knife battles I have even gotten exspelled from school triing to show off like a big shot. Now I am in this weird school in a bad area near Upper Darby Pennsylvania USA. I am doing good trying to get out of that school and so far I will be out soon. I am not trying to be a big shot or show off and look as a badass. I have seen stuff such as my mom in the kitching holding a knife to cut her wrist at 7 on New years eve. My dad beat me and so did my mom they had a leather belt with a metal tip on it and ahuge wooden spoon. My parents told me I would be a failure. Which I hope you don't think I should like one. I am being honest this is my life it sucks no one undrstands well that's what is about me

No child should have to deal with that. Do you have other relatives? Have you ever told anyone what's going on at home? CPS? A school counselor? The police?
Kiddo, nobody has the right to abuse a child, and that's what's happening here. Do you realize that? Normal families aren't like this. Most kids don't have to go through this. It's not a part of growing up. It's not the norm, and you don't have to suffer through it until you're old enough to leave. You can get help.
Fact is, you're being abused, and your parents denying you medical attention is neglect. They can be charged for both, but you have to tell someone before that can happen.

Yes I have my moms mom who is always there for me and I have told someone about this before, but it backfired my parents said I was the messed up one and everyone is so blind to see what's going on. You know who I had to talk to when I was younger is my sister who now is so mean to me she is older I remember going in here room at night and us chilling until my dad got mad one night and threw me outside and then let me in because he did not want the police to come so he would just lock me in the basemet with the lights off. The memories of moving getten beaten and seeing so much going on make ne worry prone and deppressed when I see something that reminds me of my childhood. Like if tomorrow I went to school saying what is going kn they would just ignore me and if they did do something my step mom and dad would denie all of jt and make me sound like terrible heartless monster. I can't wait till I am 18. Oh I wish this world would change. It bings a tear to my eye seeing what humanity is doing to this earth, but I am just a kid who has no say because of my age.

You're a kid now, but you won't be a kid forever.
You said that you get into fights, and do bad things. Do you think that's the way to change things? Is that the way to make the world a better place?
I don't like the fact that you're in this situation, and I wish I could get you out of it. I have a 14 year old son. When I read your post I though about him, what I would do if he was as scared as you. Frankly, he never would have had the chance to be afraid, I would have taken him to the doctor the day this happened.
I was molested as a child, from the age of 5 on. Not by my parents. My parents were great. Nothing I went through was because of my mom and dad.
When I was 18 I was raped. From the age of 14 on I made many mistakes, most of them with guys, having sex too young, doing things I shouldn't have been doing. I hated myself, my body, everything, because of what happened when I was 5.
I changed all of that. I grew up, I talked about it, I got help.
My past is still there, it's part of who I am, but it doesn't define me. Do you know what that means? I'm me despite my past. I'm me, because I choose to be me. I'm a better me than I could have been if I had let the things that happened to me make me into something else.
You have choices. The best option is to keep calling the police when you're beaten. Keep telling people what's going on. Don't stop telling people that you're in trouble. But, that also means that you have to stop making trouble. Getting into knife fights, not cool. Not at all. It's stupid, and you're not stupid. It doesn't make you look bada$$ at all, it makes you look dumb. Is that how you want people to think of you?
You're a child, and no child should have to fight to be a child, but you don't have the norm, so you have to fight. Not with knives, or fists, but with words, and actions.
Do you get what I'm saying?
You are so much better than what you're dealing with. You can change the future. If you can't change it now, if people continue to ignore your cries for help (and trust me, if I could make a difference I would, but I'm not even in the same country as you), then you change your future by being better than what you lived through. You change it with you.
You want a better world? You can make your world better. How? By being the best you you can be.
If your parents refuse to take you to the doctor, go to the ER by yourself. They'll have to pay the bill. If they beat you because of it, then go back to the ER, tell them that you were beaten. The cops will get involved. Keep reporting, keep fighting to be heard. If you're silent about it because no one listens, then no one ever will.
Now get to bed! It's late, and you're a child, and you're not feeling well. It's way past your bedtime, and I'm going to go all "mom" on you. Bed. We can talk again tomorrow. Okay?

Well, I am a mom, and I have a 14 year old son, who right now is playing games because he has no school tomorrow. It's Thanksgiving in Canada, and he had a 4 day weekend, so he gets to stay up late. But, I just informed him that it's time for bed. I'm very good at going "all mom". :)
We'll talk tomorrow kiddo. Get some sleep, do the pillow thing, it will help. I'll be thinking and worrying about you, but I'll be here tomorrow if you need to talk. Until then, sleep! It's a mom order. :)

Alrighty I am home from school and I went to the nurse and she said it feels fine and that it is probably swelled up inside/bruised and that if I went to the doctors they would not do nothing except to take it easy and ice it and drink warm honey tea. They also told me not to worry about it or it will feel much worse. SO I guess I will be fine they said if it still messed up by the near end of the week they will call my dad demanding that he must make me a doctors appoinment

Hello Grant! I am late to the game here... but I read everything and I am glad that you went to your nurse today. If things do progress, then go see your family doctor. Or even urgent care.
This does concern me that your parents don't take this more seriously.
We are here if you need us. Try not to panic. The nurse seems to think you are all right, and that's a step un the right direction. Keep yourself busy and try not to think so much about it.

I know it gets me mad my parents don't take me seriously. The teacher at my school said your throat esophagus is made of muscles and about 2 inches wide and when you hit it and keep using it by swallowing so it tries to protect itself by swelling up at least that is why I think food get stuck when I swallow. Would you agree and when I complete ignore it it feels much better but when I do think about it feels like my throat is swelling all up and I am not breathing that good and then having like a panic attack just the thought of me dying which will not happen but I worry about it cause its my throat you understand and get me and what are your thoughts

Honey, I think you are letting this all get to your head. You are having panic attacks which is causing it hard to breathe. I used to suffer from panic attacks, so I know first hand what the symptoms consist of.
If you are that concerned, then I would have your parents take you to the doctor to have a checkup.
Your throat is swollen and hurts because you got hit there. If the nurse had any thought that this is worse than what it is, she would have demanded that you immediately go to a doctor. She didn't though. I believe SHE believes you are fine.
Let me ask you this... how long have you suffered from panic attacks?

I have been raised as like a clean person like and when something happens that is not right with meI kep obsessing over it because I want to make it right and have everything go back to normal, but usually I make it worse it is just the thought that this is my throat this is no joke and even though people say I will be fine its like they are not doctors. I have also beenhaving so much acid for the past week too I don't get it could I be making my mind play this whole trick on me from constantly thinking about it and I have had panic attacks/aniexity attacks when I worry worry worry what do you guys think I should do? Also can worying make you swallow air and get gas and make your stomach hurt and give you acid or what I am so confused.

Anxiety and worrying can do strange things to your body. Keep drinking hot tea with honey and avoid milk products. Eat soft foods as much as you can or at least cut up food into small pieces and chew it well before swallowing.
Keep talking to us as one way to reduce your anxiety. Another thing to do is to take ten long, deep, slow breaths through your nose, hold in each one as long as you can, and breathe out slowly through your mouth. Do this whenever you feel anxious or stressed.
There is a technique called creative visualization. Pick out a spot on the wall or use a picture or painting. Sit quietly alone and stare at the spot and imagine yourself in your favorite place in the whole world. Or if you are staring at a picture or painting, put yourself in it. Imagine walking there or doing things there.
When I want to fall asleep at night, I imagine myself in my bachelor's friend's house cleaning. I imagine myself cleaning his bathroom floor and imagine myself cleaning the sink and the toilet and the shower stall. I imagine myself taking away the dirty towels and putting up fresh ones, hanging them nicely on the racks. I imagine myself walking to the kitchen and washing the floor with PineSol and scrubbing out the sink with Comet cleanser. I imagine myself cleaning off his stove top and wiping the front and sides of the stove. I imagine I open the refrigerator door to clean inside, but by that time, I have fallen asleep. :)

Grant, I really like this idea for relaxing you.
I think you need to try and learn how to relax, even at such a young age.
If you get a technique down that works for you, you will have it always to bring you a little peace.
As far as your throat and your stomach go, use the hot tea, it will soothe and help to thin down that mucous a little (if the mucous is still a problem) Instead of trying to swallow the mucous back try to spit it out.
Try to watch what you eat for a while, stay away from things that have tomatoes, chocolate, caffeine, acidic fruits, etc.
If you can manage to deal with helping your stomach and at the same time work on your stress level I think you will be much better off in the long run.
As far as the rest of your story goes, you have fallen into a whole pile of moms here.
We will listen and we will hear you.
My heart goes out to you and I hope you do well with all of this so keep the updates coming.

I started having panic attacks when I was five. They lasted until I was twenty. I remember laying in bed at night thinking about death and dying. Then I even thought I was dying. Oh yes. Just ask my parents. I have had all types of cancer, emphysema, HIV (I was a virgin when I thought I had that) tetanus, pulmonary embolisms, aneurysms, brain cancer, throat cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, heart disease... The list goes on and on. My mother paid the doctor's mortgage bill for all of the appointments I had. Seriously! I thought I had all of these at one point.
I know it may seem funny, and looking back on it, it was funny, however, at the time I was scared. I lost sleep over these things. My mind is and was powerful. The mind is a powerful thing. My attacks were so bad that I couldn't breathe or swallow. My heart would race.
Then one day I said to myself, "self, do you really want to live like this? I am fine! I will be fine!" Then I started to focus on other things. Painting, reading, enjoying my friends, family, school, or something simple as walking around my block.
I guess what made it easier was my mother reassuring me that I was OK.
Grant, we are here if you need us. I know you are scared, but you don't have to be. You will be OK. I know it seems easier said than done, but take it from a person who thought I had everything wrong with me, you WILL be fine. :)
Grant, I promise you that you are OK. I am a nurse and I have to tell you that if there were a problem, it would have gotten worse by now. Not stayed the same, but gotten WORSE.
Panic attacks are very real, AND very scary, but they can be controlled if you learn how to control them. What I used to do is go to my bedroom, lie down with some soft music playing and concentrate on my breathing. Try to relax each muscle in my body starting at the toes and slowly going up to my head. Heck, I still do this if I'm having a bad day.

What and How are you eating and drinking?
You can stay away from carbonated beverages, sodas and carbonated waters.
Don't use a straw.
Chew your food well and eat slowly.
Take your time, if you eat in a rush you will swallow more air.

I am eating fine and like not that bad. When I eat I have to chew extra tobsallow it without feeling it tightly going down my throat. I think that's because it is bruised/a little swallon but I don't know because this happened last wendesday

You might want to chew on 3-4 papaya tablets after you eat something. They are at Walgreen's or Walmart and in the vitamin section (no prescription). They taste good and help digest food and avoid gas/burping.

Perhaps it's all coincidence that you may have gotten the flu around the same time you also got hit in the throat. It's been a week since this has all happened. I think you should go to the doctor. Not because I think that there is something wrong, but to put your mind ar ease. Your brain is creating more than there really is.
Go to your school nurse tomorrow and tell her all of the symptoms that you are having. Let her take a look see. Then have the nurse call your parents and DEMAND that they take you in to see the doctor.
I, along with everyone who answered yiu asked a series of questions regarding past events (panic attacks, worry) to see if thus is just your personality. I thought at first but you may be a hypochondriac, but now I am uncertain. You say rhat you didn't worry about things so much prior to getting hit. But you are extremely worried now.
So now I think it's time to have a doctor's checkup.
Start with your nurse.
It makes me upset that after a week of complaining about this, your parents STILL dismiss it. Is your family insured?

Yes my family is insured. My dad is an accountent. Whomakes a lot of money. When I tell him to take me to the doctors he says you are fine. I told my nurse about all these things going on and she said that I will be fine and if it keeps up she will call my dad. She alao said that the problems I am having is no laughing matter, but this will probably not be life threating or nothing super serious, but then again there is Always this from WHAT IF in the back of my head. I just Worry about my health and how I want this to end and it feels like hell. I hope you guys do not think I am weird I amjust a concerned person that is confused and has parents most of the time. I wonder what is up with myself what do you think am I over exaggerating and are these extra problems from aniexty and worrying or is it a serious medical issue what do you think
Wondergirl
Oct 10, 2012, 03:30 PM
It is probably a combination of things -- from the injury, maybe from stress and worry, even a reaction from your dad's ignoring symptoms and telling you that you are okay (and you know you aren't). I too think you should follow up with the school nurse and tell her you are not any better and want to see a doctor.

I believe you are fine, but I am not there to see it. I am not you who is feeling it. If the nurse thinks you're fine, then I would believe her. Again though, I would stress to your mother that you are in pain and are very concerned.

So I contacted one of my very good friends in Chicago who is a nurse and is married to a doctor. They both said that the mucus and other symptoms are totally unrelated. However, if the pain persists, you can have a neck X-ray, but they suggest taking ibuprofen first.

Grant,
I think you must be delightful young man and if I could, I would throw my arms around you right now and give you a large reassuring hug.
We have all asked questions and given suggestions to try and help you, I don't know if you have read each post thoroughly, but you haven't answered some of those questions.
I'm not getting on you for it, just saying that if you could give us some of that information we would be able to help you even more.
And rest assured that no one thinks you are weird for being concerned about yourself right now.
I think you should do just as Enigma and Wondergirl said and follow up with your school nurse, and a doctor visit is certainly valid, you need some peace of mind.

Yes sadly the acid problem is still bothering me, but not as much everything has seemed like it has gotten better just a little bit. I do look at all the posts by other people too. Thanks for doing that Enigma1999 and yes I have taken Advil, but my throat problem as of now is random pains and when I swallow I can feel food slide down my esophagus and sort of get stuck in a uncomfortable painful manner. Also thanks LadySam. Enigma1999 can you ask them about the other problems and tell them about what kind of situation I am in please. We are in Fall season now, and I saw you live in an Eastern sate, which is starting to have a change in temp there. The flu bug is starting to go around, therefore, you may have contracted something prior to getting hit. I did mention all of the symptoms that you are experiencing, and my friend feels very confident that none of that is related.
I would go to the nurse tomorrow, one last time, and explain that you are very concerned and that your parents WILL NOT take you to see the doctor and what can be done about that?
LadySam
Oct 10, 2012, 05:11 PM
The acid problems are something you may have a little control over, and can, by the way, cause a funny "lumpy" feeling in your throat.
So let's work on trying things that may decrease the acid, OK?
When you feel like you're getting the indigestion do you take anything?
Have you noticed that the acid is worse with certain foods?
Are you eating just before you lie down at night?
Are you eating a lot of fried or fatty foods? (cheeseburgers, pizza, etc.)
Sorry, I know lots of questions, but we might can steer you clear of some of the classic things that cause indigestion if we know a little more about your habits
I know the acid is not the only problem, but stomach discomfort is real downer and can make you feel way worse than you should.
Enigma1999
Oct 10, 2012, 05:18 PM
So all the other stuff I said about the gas, acid, mucus, chest pains, light headness, and etc have nothing to do with getting punched in the neck
According to them... no.
Which makes sense because, everything you are describing sounds like flu symptoms. Think about it... You are stuffed up which is causing a build up of mucus which is also causing post nasal drip, causing your throat to feel soar (on top of the pain from being hit). You are light headed because your equilibrium is off most likely because of the fact that you have built up mucus. The eyes, ears, and throat are all connected, and it seems that all of the above are showing symptoms. Now, the acid and gas are more than likely caused from all of the worry you have been experiencing. Stress causes stomach issues, such as gas, acid indigestion type feeling, and even sharper pains.
Again though, I just want to reiterate that I am not a doctor.
Speaking to your doctor will put your mind at ease.

I have not been eating that many fried foods, but before this I could eat a whole large pizza and a 2 foot chess steak otherwise I am eating OK now. I try not to eat before I sleep. Acid for me gets worse with pasta sauce of acidic acid which comes from certain foods such as apples certain juice. I have been eating pretzel rods, bread and butter, crackers, etc to absorb the acid. It is sort of helping let me just say since I have talked to you girls I have been feeling much better and confident and not as down,l but I am still having the problems I mention before which might just be nothing. Some days I feel better than others. I mean I still am having those problems and worrying but no were near as much as I worried before thanks to you girls. Thanks for the advice Enigma1999 even if I went to a doctor they would probably say the same things you girls are saying to me. So that's what I am thinking. Can you get chest pains all around your chest and throat are if you are stuffed up with mucus and it is hard to breathe because of the mucus well at least that is what I think.

It's good that you have figured out some of your trigger foods so that you can avoid them.
When my stomach acts up I drink lots of gatorade, the blue ones, sounds crazy, but for me they actually are a little soothing.
Ginger tea is also good for soothing the stomach, if you like hot tea, I think you will enjoy it.
I think I recall that you are taking Advil also, when you take it make sure you are taking it with food.
I still think you need to get to the doctor, you need to ease your mind and get back to being a 14 year old.

Can spaghetti with a garlic red sauce give me acid and gas and sort of hurting stomach
Yes it can.
Are you vomiting at all?
The red sauce is acidic and the garlic won't help matters.
You really need to lay off the heavy, acidic, problem causing foods, eat small meals and try to keep them bland.
Until you get to the doctor and have him give you a good head to toe check-up try to remember something.
You are stressing yourself out--often times stress=stomach issues and then the pain and discomfort from your stomach causes you to worry more which = more stress.
It's a vicious cycle.
So why not take it easy on your stomach until you can be seen.
You need to discuss ALL these issues when you go to the doctor, the worrying, the throat, the mucous, the stomach, ALL of it.

My parents will not take my I told my nurse to call him and my dad said he will not do it he said he can not take much time off work and besides I am feeling sort of better from a few days ago. I am still having mucus balling up in my throat though that is another thing that worries me do you think I am having mucus from the throat injury or just mucus and change in weather. I heard your throat is made of something called cartilage or something like that and when you damage it it can take a bit for it to heal
Enigma1999

The mucus is not related to the injury. If something was wrong with your throat, it would be getting worse, not feeling better.

All of the women that have posted on this thread are moms. We all feel bad that you're this upset, but Grant, we can only tell you that you'll be okay, or tell you to see the doctor, so many times.
I don't want to be harsh, but kiddo, there's really nothing we can do about what you're going through. The only advice we can give is to go to the doctor. Not one of us can give you a diagnosis.
I'm feeling that the more we talk about this with you, the more upset you're becoming, and that's not good.
I think it's time that you accept the answers you've been given, and either follow the advice, or wait and see what happens.
I hope that you stick around, post other questions, or answer questions, but I really think this thread is done. We've given you the advice we can give you. There's really nothing more we can do about this. It's in your hands, and your parents hands, now.

Here's my concern. We've given the advice we can give. We all think he's going to be okay. If he's really distressed than a doctor is the only option, and that's out of our power. It's something his parents have to do, or not do, and not something we can force.
I feel that the more we chat about this, the more we're feeding the paranoia.
Grant, you're a good kid, and I hope you stick around on the site, but this thread, this question, it's gone as far as it can go. We're going over the same thing over and over again. We've said what we can, given the advice we can, and you're really not taking it. I think that the more we chat with you, the worse you get about the whole thing. This isn't a chat thread. We do have them, and if you want to just chat, you're welcome to join the chat threads. But this particular thread is a question, and the question has been answered, many times.
I think it's time to close the thread. Read over all the posts, follow the advice, and go from there, but talking it to death isn't helping you. In fact, I think it's making things worse.
That's my opinion.
