Can a pelvic ultrasound cause internal bruising? I had one on Tuesday due to my OB not being able to locate my IUD. Her office machine is old so she still couldn't see it. So the following day I had to go to radiology and have a better pelvic u/s done. It didn't really hurt at the time, but afterwards I was very sore on the inside of my lower stomach. It is now Friday and I am still sore. Is this normal? Could there be internal bruising?

I doubt ultrasound could cause internal bruising. Perhaps the IUD, lost internally is causing the soreness. Suggest your pursue this diagnosis.

Sorry, I forgot to add that ghetto IUD was located in the correct place. So that is unlikely to be where the pain is from.

Okay, but unable to give you a definitive answer. This is very hard to do on the internet, as is a diagnosis.

I had an abdominal ultrasound last year. I was poked and prodded while the technician worked in getting the correct views. I definitely was sore for quite a few days.

It's been 5 days now and its still sore. Getting better, but not even close to 100% yet.
