There are drugs that shrink fibroids. But each case has to be considered on an individual basis, and not all fibroids respond the same way. As with any drug, there are side effects that you will want to weigh against hoping the fibroid shrinks on it's own.

Some fibroids can be surgically treated with 'embolization' of the blood vessels leading to the uterus, through a very tiny incision through the abdomen, but you may not be able to have children.
