When I try to use my Whirlpool Quiet Partner IV dishwasher, none of the buttons work except for the cancel/drain button. I even tried to get it to go into diagnostic mode, and that did not work either. I turned off the breaker for 30 minutes to see if that would reset it, but nothing. The cancel/drain button works fine, but none of the other buttons work.

Here is a manual: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8010163/Whirlpool_Kenmore%20Dishwashers.zip
If the buttons are not responding then water may have gotten behind the keypad. To fix it you turn off power and take out the screws necessary to get to circuit board with keypad. You remove the keypad and clean the circuit board side with alcohol and the rubber keypad you first clean with regular shampoo or dishwashing soap. Then wash off with alcohol and let dry. Make sure carbon buttons are clean. They should have a dull finish on them, not shiny. Re-assemble and the buttons should work. You also want to check all of the safeties, such as the overflow float in tub because a safety will shut it down, too.
