1.Installed a new (bigger) hard drive on my XP home computer as the secondary HD.
2. Cloned it from the original C drive.
3. Removed the original drive.
4. re-connected the new drive as primary.

Most every thing works OK EXCEPT that on bootup, a command 'window' shows, "Please select the operating system" and shows 2 options. Selecting either one and it boots up windows OK.

It also noted that pressing F-8 and I could adjust the bios. Did that and selected "normal bootup", but no change.

How do I get rid of this nuisance?

You could go into MSCONFIG and remove the other OS entry in Boot.ini:
How to Use and Edit Boot.ini in Windows XP (http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/bootini.htm)

I found this line in Boot.ini:

"default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\window s"

That's OK isn't it?

Don't delete this line. There should be 1 or more lines at the end under the heading [operating systems]. The first line should be the same as the "default=" line.

There may be a second line similar to the first, Delete this line.
