What is the best way to audition for the x factor?

Since it's directly from the X Factor website I would believe it is correct.

Why would they lie?

Well you would apply first then auditions for the x factor auditions (http://xfactor2013auditions.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/how-do-you-audition-for-x-factor-to-get.html) , it is though possible to apply now, and the first auditions start in march.
