I have 2008 GMC Acadia. I would like to replace the Hand shift cover that keeps dirts and debris from getting into the gear area. How do I get o the shift cover?

The console/cup holder is usually held in place with clips so gentle pulling and/or prying (with a plastic tool) may help. You may need to be little rough. Expect to break a clip or two since these become brittle over time.
First, you'll need to remove the shift handle. That will require a small screwdriver to pry the clip out of the forward face of the shift handle. If your's is equipped with TapUp/TapDown, you need to disconnect the harness to that.
Good luck.
