My kindle will not charge

Have you tried to plug the supplied USB cable to your computer? If the indicator doesn't light up still, there may be a problem of your charger or even Kindle. You'd better turn to Amazon kindle consultant for help before you buy a new one.

Try holding the power button on the kindle for 30sec.
If a kindle is completely flat it will take an hour or so for it to reach a sufficient charge to switch on again.

Is it the new Kindle HD? Are you trying to charge it with the USB cable that it came with? If so, that is for file transfers only and you will have to purchase the plug that plugs into the USB cable on one end and an electrical outlet on the other end.
