Folks,

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 12000 miles on it. I'll be leaving US for about 4 months, but my car will stay with my relatives. Can someone throw me some tips on how can I keep it in good running condition so that I donot build up CO2 deposits or reduce engine life.

Many Thanks

It either needs to be run about for a bit every week or placed on jacks. Tires don't take well to longterm storage--- watch out for dry rot. The tank needs to be full and there is an additive you can use (ask at the auto store) to prevent the fuel from oxidizing. If its not going to be started up and run periodically, then disconnect the battery cable. It will likely still need recharging though. Cars (and boats) really do run better when routinely run so maybe renting out its use to a responsilble relative would be a better option? Just a thought or two from someone who used to parked cars for a few months at a time now and then.
