The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 9. If the digits are reversed, the new number is 63 greater than the original number. Find the original number

What work have you done on this yet? First, come up with all the 2 digit numbers which have a sum of 9. I'll get you started: 18, 27... You continue the pattern, and see which one fits your problem. Post answer and we'll help you.

Assume the number is XY. We know that X+Y = 9
Also, the number is 10X + Y (since X is in tens place)
If we reverse the digits, we have 10Y+X
10Y+X = 10X + Y + 63
Solving the equations we get the original number to be 18
