My dad has a GFM dvd player, a name I've never heard of before, and he also has DirecTV. In order to connect the DVD player to DirecTV, you have to choose the brand model of the DVD player you have to get a code to input for setup. Since the GFM model is not listed, I have no idea what to do. Is there a model compatible, or can I just pick some code? I'm at a loss as to how to help him with this, short of buying a DVD player that anyone has ever heard of. Thanks.

Typical thing one would do is work through all the codes you have available... sometimes they use the same codes another manufacturer already uses. Odd are high you will find one that way. Its time consuming, so write down the code in the battery cover so you can reprogram it when it needs batteries next time.
