I'm trying to help my friend with the same issue. She only knows her father's name, that he was in the army in the mid 60's. Her mother claims to not know anything else to help her with her search.

And it's the same as I posted before - it depends on how common the name is, whether the approximate age of the person is known.

Well his name is Robert Earl Suggs, he was in the Army in Tampa FL in the mid to late 60's (my friend was born in October 1968). I'm guessing he was probably in his early to mid 20's since he was a few years older than my friend's mom and she was 20 when she gave birth.

Are you positive about the name? I find two, both deceased:

One was born in 1952, died in 2001 - he would have been much too young (I would think), 16 in 1968

One was born in 1948, died in 1975 - he would have been 20 in 1968.

I find no one alive (using my sources, not the Internet, and private sources "tend" to be more reliable) with that name.

That is the name her mom gave her, we are going to pick up a copy of her birth certificate tomorrow to see if he is listed on it. Her mother also told her that he came to see her in the hospital and he is the one that picked them up when she was discharged.

I did leave out in my previous post, he was an African American. I did a search using www.familysearch.org and found a Robert Earl Suggs, African American born 1/18/46 in Greene, NC. Have no clue if that could be him since no photos are listed.

My friend really wants to find her father and/or his relatives just to put together her ancestry. She has a lot of health issues that don't seem to be inherit in her mother's family members (diabetes, high blood pressure).

I'm trying to help my friend find her biological father she has very little info:

Robert Earl Suggs
African American
Was in the Army stationed at Macdill AFB in the mid to late 60's
Possibly from New York

That is all the information her mother has provided her with. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get help with this info.

I have spent considerable time and used considerable resources searching for this same person on your other thread.

Once again - his AGE is important. He could have been 17 in the "late 60's." He could have been 65. Now he's "possibly" from NY?

I have no idea why you thought opening a new thread would elicit more information than I could locate, no idea at all, and, frankly, after the time and energy I spent trying to pry information out of you, it's insulting.

I'd suggest that you and your friend hire someone. And to answer you other thread 99.9% of the sites I use don't have photos posted. How would your friend recognize him anyway?

Not trying to insult you at all. I didn't want to keep replying off the other person that posted the original question as I found out information.

I thought if I posted my own then I would be able to better communicate with you the information as I was given it.

I appreciate all of the help that you have been. I guess she's just not going to be able to locate him because for whatever reasons her mother is giving little to no assistance. She went and got her birth certificate today only to find his name is not on it.

This is the exact info that her mother gave her: His name is Robert Earl Suggs, he's African American, he was in the Army stationed at Macdill AFB when I met him, he told me he was from New York, I was 19 or 20 and he was a little older than me.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

What? You had your own thread. How are you replying off anyone else's question?

All I'm seeing is a question posted by you, and no one else.

You met him? That's very strange. You know this man, and this man is the father of your best friend? I don't know if I believe in coincidences like that.

Time to hire a private investigator. Judy has resources that the every day person can't begin to access. If she can't find him, then it's time to hire someone that can, someone that you'll hopefully divulge all the information to. As is, you've provided not nearly enough for anyone to go on.

Good luck finding your dad. Sorry... I mean your friends dad.

Appreciate your comments. No I have never met him and she has never met him, I'm just trying to help her find him.

I see finding someone with little or no info is VERY hard.

I appreciate all of Judy's efforts.
