I was in a 3 year relationship with my ex girlfriend. We were high school sweethearts and are juniors in college now. Shared a lot of good memories together and still have so many feelings for her. She fell in love with me very early on and I didn't completely except it until recently. I treated her poorly and hurt her without knowing for the past year.(never cheated) She told me she lost feelings for me and we need a break. I decided it was the best thing to do and give her space after I pleaded to get her back and get another chance and said I was sorry (I know it was bad) . I have been trying to balance school and work with this breakup but it has been miserable. I love the girl to death and I can't talk to her. It's been about 3 weeks of no contact and I struggle everyday to try and not to text her. To make matters worse she lives across the street from me. I want to try and make things work but I don't want to wait to long before its no turning back. But at the same time I don't know if it is still too soon. How should I approach this? I am just very confused and stressed out and wanting to do anything I can to really make this work and show her I have changed.

She has given you her answer, it sounds like... It's hard to hear, but if she felt the same for you, she would be knocking at your door. Be strong. Hold off on the emotionally charged calls or texts. You need space. Both of you! If you are still feeling sorry for the way you treated her in a few weeks, it's never too late to apologize. Just keep in mind that she might not take you back still & that's okay! Maybe there's something better for both of you out there. :)

When someone loses feelings for another person, they just don't come back. Sometimes, once in a great while, they will want you back if they have a lot of bad relationships down the line, but don't count on it.
I do want to say something about letting a woman know you have feelings for her when she has dumped you or told you she needs a break: TEXTING?? WHAT kind of Herculean effort to display remorse, change, and undying love is THAT? Maybe I'm too old for your generation, but give me a break - not a lot has changed all that much. If you can't think of things that take skill and feeling and work then I'm not going to tell you.

You definitely are not too old. Texting easily becomes just another way to annoy somebody!

If someone one is going to tell me they love me and am sorry for what they have done, I am not going to pay any attention if it is via text.
Pick up a phone or talk in person people!

Start your own topic so you can get answers. Don't post your question with this one.
She broke up with you. If she wants you back, she will come to you. Why would you even want her back?

You could ask her back out, just be careful about the way you do it.
