I went to the ER last night around 8 pm. Thought I was having Heart Attack. I felt funny and left leg and arm went numb and tingled a little. I laid down for about 5 min. Then it hit me so hard I jumped up and ran but bounced off everything in the house and fell. Got to ER and they hooked me up to the EKG and various others, gave me a nitro pill and aspirin. (BP was 212 over 129 in Ambulance) They pretty much left me alone and waited for the alarm on the machine. My heart rate would jump from around 70 to 131 bpm back and forth for about an hour and a half. Tight chest, couldn't breathe, couldn't feel my left leg or arm, and all kinds of different pains in chest. After about 3 hrs everything just started to calm down. I almost felt normal. They discharged me around 1am and I told them I was still dizzy. They said it was the Medicine they gave me for my cough. I got home and slept until 5:30 am and I still can't move legs right when I walk and when I reach for a cup or something, I can't grab it; constantly over-shooting or missing it. My chest still feels like it might do this all over again. I am "6'1 and 230lbs of almost solid muscle. Haven't been to a Doctor since I was a kid. I do lots of hard physical work at job; always have. Now I can't roll over in bed without my heart hitting almost 130 BPM and out of breathe. I didn't do anything that day but sit on a computer. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! Ohhh, and twice my vision started to fade out. Both when I stood up. PLEASE HELP I'm only 30 yrs old.

You should go back to the hospital or to you PCP

I wouldn't necessarily say heart failure, but stroke is high on the list with blood pressures like that.

I'd go back to the ER if this is continuing.

Thank you. Guess I need to find someone to drive for me. Still feel the same and BP was 209 over 131 about 10 minutes ago. Haven't been to doctor since I was 13. Never had any problems, all of a sudden a serious one presents itself. The story of my life. God Bless.

How do you know your BP is that high? Do you have a BP monitor at home?

Yes, my grandmother. She is a retired nurse. And I took it on my little automatic one, they were close. My grandma thinks it's anxiety. I've dealt with anxiety for a long time; never had one that bad, or even close to what I experienced last night, before. I walk like I don't know where the floor is at. Going to another hospital. That hospital told my grandfather his back was hurting because of the COPD and gave him Ibuprofren and sent him home twice. Found out by this hospital where I am going now, that his back was broke and died a year later because of the seriousness of the infections.
