Hi, I am breastfeeding my 4 month old twins. I bled for a little over a month after my c-section, but haven't resumed my period since. I am getting a little concerned and have been having small throbbing pains in what seems to be my left ovary. (not constant- just at random times) I have absolutely no sex drive, though I believe that could also be due in part to my lack of sleep, etc. Should I be worried, or contact my OBGYN?

I would call your OBGYN just to ask, but I didn't have my period at all when I nursed my kids. It started back up as soon as I stopped nursing. Does not mean you are not ovulating, however. Might be why the left ovary has some pain. I'd call your doctor just in case they want to see you about the pain. The first c-section is the longest recovery time. Good Luck!

Lack of period could very well be because you are breastfeeding(and twins at that). Some women don't start their periods until they stop breastfeeding(like my friend, a 14 months after her son was born, and she finished weening him). Some women start their periods right away(like me). The throbbing sensation could just be your body still trying to get back to normal. Being pregnant always throws your body through a bit of a loop, but twins are a little more strenuous. It could just be taking your body a little while to recover. Either way, don't hesitate to talk to your doctor. They can help you understand what to expect with your recovery, and what you are experencing. They are more then happy to help, even after baby(s) are born. Good luck and congratulations

Get the doctor to check you out. I was breast feeding my first baby and didn't get a period, it turned out I was pregnant again 4 weeks after giving birth.
