Hi,
I am reconfiguring my laundry room and adding a sink and dishwasher to the laundry room. I am moving the washing machine across the small laundry room, 8 feet from the water / drain connections, and will stack it with the dryer. In the space where the washer was, I am going to put a dishwasher and sink. I have been told both the dishwasher and the washing machine can drain to the same standing pipe. Can you confirm both a dishwasher and clothes washer can drain to the same point?

This laundry room is next to my kitchen. In the kitchen I am going to move the existing dishwasher drain connection from connecting to a dishwasher connection in the sink drain (and then P Trap) to the garbage disposal. To the drain connector where the kitchen dishwasher was attached I would like to connect the new sink drain of the sink which is in the laundry room.
Can I run a sink drain using a pipe 6 feet into the dishwasher connection without adding a new trap and vent? I am think I can because the dishwasher does it and it flows into the existing trap.

So the questions I have are:
Can a washer and dishwasher run to the same standing pipe?
Can I run a sink drain 6 feet to the dishwasher connection of another sink? Keep in mind, this is a dual sink which will have a dishwasher also running to it via the garbage disposal input.

have a dishwasher also running to it via the garbage disposal input. If you're asking if you can connect a DW to a disposal the answer is yes.
I found your post confusing. Can you repost and dumb it down so I can understand exactly what you want to do. A before and after drawing would be nice. Back to you, Tom

Sorry for the confusing post. Here is (hopefully) a better explanation of what I am trying to accomplish.

Currently in my kitchen I have a sink with 2 drains. Both flow into one trap. One drain has a garbage disposal and one drain accepts the dishwasher via what I believe is Fernco connection.

I would like to set up a new bar sized sink in a nearby laundry room. The water supply will come from the washer connections. The drainage of the sink will be piped approximately 10 feet (revised from my previous post of 6 ft) from the laundry room into the kitchen sink. Specifically, I would like to use the drain in the kitchen sink with the Fernco dishwasher connection (I am moving the drain hose from the kitchen dishwasher to the garbage disposal)


I am also adding a dishwasher in the laundry room and it will drain into the stack pipe used by the washing machine. I assume this drain is already vented because it is the drain currently used by the washing machine. Only change is the addition of the dishwasher.
I will have to look into the air gap. Thanks for catching that for me. This will require more research on my part.

one drain accepts the dishwasher via what I believe is Fernco connection. A Fernco Connector (see image) is nothing more then a flexible coupling. You drain a dishwasher to one of two places.
1- To a branch tailpiece (see image) **OR**
2-n To a knock out plug in the disposal.

The drainage of the sink will be piped approximately 10 feet (revised from my previous post of 6 ft) from the laundry room into the kitchen sink How will this sink be vented?

(I am moving the drain hose from the kitchen dishwasher to the garbage disposal)Then you'll have to replace the sinks branch tailpiece with a regular one.

I am also adding a dishwasher in the laundry room and it will drain into the stack pipe used by the washing machine. We really have to get together on terms. If by "stack pipe " you mean the stack the washer drains into you will have to trap and vent the hose, If you meant something else please explain.
