I have been bleaching my hair for over a year now and can't afford the upkeep anymore. I want to go nearer my roots which is dark blonde/ light brown how do I do this with out messing my hair up as its not very good condition.

This is a lot of processing and I think you should go to a salon to have it done. Once it's done professionally the first time, you can then select the home color you like best and do it yourself thereafter if you prefer. However, stripping all that color out of your hair is really damaging, and to make that drastic of a change back to dark hair can be tricky to get right. A professional will know what to do to prevent it from burning and breaking and to avoid it turning orange or some other weird shade when making such a drastic change.
