Okay so I am going to a bat mitzvah in November and I don't know what dress I'm wearing yet but I just have a feeling that I might need a strapless bra with it. What do I say to my mom to ask for one?

Find and buy the dress first.

I think I have found the dress, and it is spaghetti strapped.

So you need to talk to your mom about styling etc..

How old are you? Can you give a link or post a photo of the dress?

I am 12 and I can't get a link to the dress because my sister already has it and I'm going to wear it, and I don't know what it's called... Sorry.

Styling meaning, would your mom go with spaghetti straps?

Yes she would go with spaghetti straps.

How old was she when she wore it and to what?
Find a similar dress through Google Images?

She was around my age and she wore it to a bat mitzvah too. And I'll try to get an image.

So it should be no problem then. If your mother says you can wear it, obviously a strapless bra will be needed. You shouldn't even have to ask for one -- done deal.

It all depends on your mom. Like the other person said it depends on how old you

Okay thank you. And I couldn't find a link to it but it's grey and it has one of those belt things that goes under your breasts and it ties in the back. It is a zipper dress and has sparkles very spread out on the way bottom of it, it's flowy and spaghetti strapped. Also, above the belt that ties in the back, there are some wrinkles towards the center of the belt, very pretty.

And just for an answer in the future, do I need a bra to go with a dress that already has padding in it? Or would that look weird?

So if your mom okays it for you to wear, a strapless bra is a necessity.

Does it have a formed, padded bust?

A strapless bra is a necessity even when a dress already has built in pads?
abcdefghijk123
Sep 16, 2012, 10:01 AM
Yes it does, they are built in, so you are not able to take them out.

If the dress is to tight a bra might be not needed. To put it simply it all depends on the dress and bra itself.

What did your sister wear when she wore the dress?

Sep 16, 2012, 10:03 AM
Okay but a strapless bra and padded cups in the dress will all be necessary? Or just one or the other? (strapless bra or padded cups)

Do you wear a bra now?
Wondergirl
Sep 16, 2012, 10:06 AM
The built-in bust is there so you DON'T have to wear a bra.

Okay thank you you guys! And I have one last question... Where should I put my pads?
abcdefghijk123
Sep 16, 2012, 10:15 AM
Can anybody answer that?

Are the pads removable? Aren't they built in?
abcdefghijk123
Sep 16, 2012, 10:17 AM
No the other kind of pads.
Wondergirl
Sep 16, 2012, 10:19 AM

Hello??
Wondergirl
Sep 16, 2012, 10:28 AM
So what do you mean, where should you put them? An unused one can be tucked into your purse for emergency purposes.

Is your mom also invited? If so, ask her to carry a couple of spares.

You will need to wear something to cover up your shoulders and upper arms if the Bat Mitzvah is held in a temple. Don't forget!
