I guess I forgot to add some details. Her last name was Munz and she lived in Cedar Rapids, IA and was 17 or 18 when she had me. I was born on June 1, 1970 in Iowa Cty, IA. She new my father but I do not have his name. Please help me. I am needing some very crutial medical information and time is of the essence. I am a mother to 2 beautiful children and really need some records to protect us all. If you know this person please help!

Have you looked up all the people with that last name that lives in that town and contacted them ? Just a start.

Have you posted any of the info on any adoption reunion sites?

If you need the medical information to "protect [you] all" you can petition to have the adoption opened and information provided to you. Judges do not always grant the request.

There are too many people with that same last name (which is probably her maiden name) to know which branch of the family is hers. Frchuck's ideas are good - post on adoption sites, contact someone with the same last name and ask.

If your adoptive parents will give you her first name it will be easier. Due to the emergency medical nature of your request I would think someone in your adoptive family would tell you what they know.

I don't know what sites to go to. If you have any of that info I would appreciate it.

There is a sticky at the top of the adoption page that states how to start searching, but the primary two sites are adoption.com and ISRR. Both of these are free to use, though ISRR is run on donations, so if you are able to give anything at all (even $5 helps) that's a nice gesture.

Is this really a medical emergency? Or do you just want your medical background?
