Kitchen water has some dirt smell and even when water is put through brita pitcher and refrigerated it tastes like or has an aftertaste like dirt. How do we get rid of this

I don't know what dirt tastes like, so kind of difficult to know what you mean. The taste could already be in your mouth, just a suggestion. Brita filters are usually pretty good for removing impurities from even the hardest city water.

I live in a small town and our water comes from lake Ontario, must have a pretty good purifying plant, cause our water is pretty good.

Are you on a well or city water? That is the big question. If on well water, then you need it tested.

I notice the kitchen faucet's the only faucet you're complaining about which leads me to think you may have bacteria growing in there some where. Let's start with the aerator. Unscrew it from the spout and try the water now. Does it still taste like dirt? If it tastes OK then soak the aerator in bleach or simply replace it. If the water still taste bad with the aerator off then click on back and we'll go on to step#2. Good luck, Tom
