My Ex husband and I have 2 children that he is required to pay child support for. We have been divorced over 6 years. He got back from serving over in Afghanistan almost 2 years ago and shows no interest in finding a job or making a consistent living. He has not paid child support in almost a year. We have a very good relationship and I have not taken any legal steps to get any of the money. I know his military time has made him different and I never wanted to get into any legal battle (or any other battle) because I believe it affects the kids the most. I was OK with letting him find his way and waiting it out. But he recently had a baby with another woman. (They are not married) and she filed an order for support. My questions are can she even get support when he makes barely nothing. And if she can or when he does become employed again how does that affect the support he is suppose to pay me and all the money he will owe for back payments? Any insight would be great. He lives in Georgia and that is where our divorce was filed.

Yes, the mother of his other child will get support based on his income - he must be living off something.

If he is not paying support for your children you have two choices: do nothing OR go back to Court and ask that he be held in contempt.

The support for the "new" child does not affect what you receive UNLESS he goes to Court and requests that support be reduced based on changed circumstances.

He can get it reduced due to lower income but probably not because because he is supporting an additional child.
