Hello,

I am a physical therapist; I worked full time for a year, and did additional per diem work at 2 other facilities on weekends for extra pay; I was taxed for these, on W-2.
I plan on only working per diem now, and resigning from my full time job. I was wondering when it's time to file taxes, can I claim gas/mileage as expenses?
Someone gave me an advice to do an LLC for myself so I can claim for these deductions.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Setting up an LLC is a good idea, if no other reason than to limit liability.

If you work on a per diem basis and go to DIFFERENT work locations, then you can claim mileage. However, if you report to the same workplace, then you CANNOT claim mileage.
