Yesterday we thought our hot water heater went out. A friend looked at the water heater and there was a plug or wire disconnected. He reattached it. Now the water pressure in the tub is about 50%, but there is no water in the bathroom or kitchen sink... just a dribble in both. Was told to leave the faucets turned on fully to allow the air pockets built up in the pipes to be pushed through. The faucets have been on for 6 hours and still just a dribble of water. Can anyone help!!

Hi mlesshaw and welcome to The Plumbing Page at AskMeHelpDesk.com
Simply replacing a wire wouldn't cause your problem. What else did he do? Shut the water off to the heater? Knock some pipes around? It's something he did that disturbed the pipes enough so they lost some minerals built up in the pipe walls. I need more details. Are both hot and cold affected? Have you checked the aerators screens for trash? More details please, Back to you, Tom
