I recently had a accident. The other driver had no insurance but I had comprehensive and collision but had waived the pip and uninsured or underinsured motorist. My insurance company is actinglike I have no coverage at all! What does this mean?will my car repairs be paid for by my isurance?

What state do you live in? Some states require under and uninsured coverage (and as you see now it would have been smart to have it), If you are in one that didn't and you don't have it you really are screwed.

Your coverage covered if YOU were at fault... however what state you live in will tell us more about what they have to cover.

For the last part... "Do I need it?" yes most certainly but in your case it's a bit late now... they let all these illegals run around without licenses and/or insurance in most cases... and that's not counting the people that belong here that are drunks driving on suspended licenses with no insurance...

It is normally one of the few required coverage. And yes you need it if a uninsured motorist hits you.

Your agent should have tried hard to force you to take this.

Since the other driver is uninsured and you declined uninsured motorist coverage the only way to be reimbursed for your damages is to sue him personally. Your carrier has no obligation to help you with this. But please verify for us: we are assuming that the accident was clearly the other person's fault - is that correct?
