My daughter drove her 2004 Hayundai Accent to work. It drove fine. She want to leave at the end of her day and it would start, turn over or anything. The radio, lights etc... work, but no crank or anything. What could be causing this?

Install a new battery. The old battery does not have enough amperage to drive the starter motor. If it has a manual transmission, she could likely push start the car.

Thanks. We did try to push start the car and that didn't work. I will get a new battery and hope for the best.

If you can, get the auto parts store to charge the new battery, prior to installation. Also, be sure to clean the battery terminals and cable connections--use sandpaper, abrasive cloth, or a battery terminal brush. Disconnect the negative battery cable first and reconnect it last.

Don't let anyone jump start the car with an outside battery. There's too much risk of damaging the ECM (computer), alternator, or various sensors from a voltage spike or hooking up the jumper cables incorrectly.
