I have a windows computer that won't connect to the internet.. I am on wireless but the wireless is good many other devices are using the signal fine. My computer recognises the wireless router but won't connect so I assume the wireless card must be working in the computer as well as it is still able to see wireless networks. There is no anti virus on the computer and since I need to be able to connect my kaspursky program to the internet for registration of the program to be able to function properly I have not been able to virus scan it. What should I do??

Firstly try connecting with a cable and get things updated and scanned.
As for your wirelss, just because it can see the router does NOT mean it can connect.
Often it is useful to complete remove the connection and start over from scratch ensuring the encryption key is correct.

I did connect through wired vs wireless and was not able to get any connection to the computer that's why I was wondering if maybe it was my network card.

Check your firewall settings as well if you are getting zero connection on either interface.
