I have had an odd tingling on the left side of my head for several months. It seems to be occurring more frequently in the last several weeks. Sometimes there is a bit of relief if I pull may hair where it hurts. It's been suggested that it could be referred neck pain. Should I have an MRI? Anyone else with this experience? Thanks.

Sounds Neural to me. I had a neck injury before and I would get sharp pains and tingling, the doctor said it was the veins trying to make the connections again. Or pinch nerves. Did you hit your head recently or maybe fall asleep with your neck in a awkward position? Also do you work at a computer all day? Sometimes it may be from the eyes. Could be embolism too, so maybe you should go get checked. MRI full scan on the head and neck. Even injury to the hands can affect the head. Did you hurt or injure your hand?

It's the scalp that is full of nerves and many blood vessels, not the brain. Yes, it could be pain from the neck, the ear, even the teeth. It could be a pinched nerve, a pinched vessel (less likely, I think), or a sore nerve from an ear or tooth infection - or simple muscle strain hitting a nerve.
