I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy. Since then, my FBS readings have shown that I am pre-diabetic. However my random BS readings are always in the normal range. I am not on medication and do my best to watch what I eat. Well, just discovered that am pregnant- about 3 weeks and worried that my currently borderline numbers could affect the development of my baby. Could my baby still be OK?
Concerned.

You definitely need to talk to your doctor about all of your concerns, but your baby should be okay.
You should probably eat as though you are on a diabetic diet--at least, that's what my doctor had me doing during my pregnancy. I, too, was borderline for GD. I did not have to take insulin, but did have to check my blood sugars and eat as though I was on a diabetic diet, keeping my sugars within a specific range.
I would talk to your doctor, as he/she can alleviate your fears and give you a clear plan for your pregnancy.
Congratulations!

Thanks for the advice. If its OK to ask, what were your readings like?

I had gestational diabetes with my second child.
I followed my Doctors' instructions to the letter and adhered strictly to the diet he gave me.
Regular glucose checks and appropriate exercise.
I had no problems carrying or delivering, and my daughter was perfectly fine.
Please don't ask what my numbers were, that was nearly 22 years ago and it seems my problems now include forgetfulness:)
That was my experience, follow your doctors' advice very closely, and congratulations.

My pregnancy was only a year ago, and I don't remember my numbers, unfortunately. I could probably find them if I went looking--I had to track them for the doctor--but honestly, I'm so busy these days trying to keep up with an almost-toddler that I can't remember numbers from last week, much less last year.
I second LadySam---make sure you are consulting closely with your doctor to make sure you are in the right range for YOU.
