Hello I am Steven from San Francisco, Ca. Im a filipino american who just got my citizenship almost two 2 years ago, Oct 18, 2010 to be exact. I just lost my mother 2 years ago and I have a step brother whose 16 years old and was abandoned by his father too, so now I am the only guardian who left to support him.

I just want to ask if is there way for me to adopt my step brother so I can get him hee in the state as soon as possible to give him a better future. I am 25 years old, have a stable Job in a Hospital and renting my own place so I guess these basic information will help me to answer my question.

Right now the only person who looks over my lilttle brother is pur relatives in the philippines. I have a step sister tpoo, but she needs to work and can't be an immediate guardian since I support and send both of them to school.

The first thing you should do is talk to immigration about what would be necessary to bring him here. They can tell you whether you need to adopt or just obtain guardianship.

I agree, a immigration attorney is going to be needed
