SO why haven't you gone to see a doctor yet? If that's what it is it CAN go systemic at a certain point. Because I've had it happen a few times.

If you can't get to a doctor:
Go buy some Benadryl, lots of gauze, and some cortisone spray.
Take the Benadryl, spray your legs with cortisone, and wrap them in gauze.
Drink plenty of fluids and get rest, and put your feet up.
Take Tylenol for pain.

If its gone systemic... and having had that happen before several times, it can be life threatening when it spreads to internal organs and stops being just on your outer skin.

Once you have enough skin area covered with the rash it can happen via the bloodstream on its own. THey will likely put them on a Prendizone regiment (type of steroids) or some other treatment... rather than leaving it run its course and deal only with the itching as is normally the case.

Which is how my doctor described it all to me... and I've had it that bad 4 or 5 time times that I can remember... I rarely get through a year without getting it to some degree.

The fever and weakness associated with it is what grabs my attention most, as those are NOT part of a normal case of poison ivy.

You really need to see a doctor. Is there a reason you can not ?

Yes, I agree, even an ER.
