We have a septic system. Today came home and my wife said the basement shower had overflowed. I checked and found that the water had gone down and a black residue was left. I checked the toilets and found that one toilet wasn't flushing fully. It is the same toilet in the basement with the shower. When I tried to unstop the toilet it backed up into the shower. I just recently had the septic tank pumped. However, when I went and checked the access to the septic tank I noticed that I hit solid waste about 1 1/2 feet down. Not sure if the leach field failed or if we have a clog. Need some help..

Welcome to AMHD
Call the septic company and tell them they did not clean tank completely. They should have let u know if there was a problem.
Do u have a split tank?
Is the enterance pipe clear?

I don't think I have a split tank but not sure? There is a vent that is between the house and the septic tank and it is clear and has a little water running through it.

We currently have 3 bathrooms. 2 upstairs and one downstairs. The two upstairs in one bathroom when you flush or use one of the two sinks it causes the toilet downstairs to gurgle and water backs up into the shower. The tub and one of the sinks in the same bathroom when you run water down the drain it doesn't do that. The other bathroom has no effect on the downstairs bathroom as it seems to be on a different line out to the main hub. So would it be a clogged up trap or line? I have tried to use liquid plumber total clog with no change still seems stopped up. What should I do?

How long since the tank was pumped? Here's a image of a septic tank,(see image) Could you have been poking into scum?
As Chuck suggested call the septic tank company back and explain the problem. Ask them to check the drainfield for saturation. Let me know what they tell you. Good luck, Tom
