I took out old toilet but came across this? Pulled off the old metal which was bending with hammer and vice grips but looks a little rough, any advice on what I should do next?? Thanks again for any advice :)

The first pic looks like a lead pipe hammered over a toilet flange. Second pic looks like you killed the lead pipe and the flange so I am thinking you have not done much plumbing, right? There are replacement flanges made for cast and pvc but do not know of any for lead. You probably need to call a plumber to replace you you removed. Sorry

Yeah, may have a problem here, but first, put the brass flange back in place and try to peen the lead back down over the brass flange... may be able to salvage this if you are lucky.

Sure takes me back to the old daze before toilet flanges and wax seals.
Follow Marks advice and reset the brass flange. If you run into trouble with the flange and the lead closet bend's still prrned over the floor line I'll show you how we set toilets without a flange. Good luck, Tom
