I ordered a 36E22-202WR Gas Valve and received a Honeywell VR8215S1214. Both are 24VAC. I can't find a cross reference guide that tells me if this is a correct replacement.

I believe you are OK according to this.
This is a BRAND NEW Goodman/Janitrol/Amana Gas Valve. I now have the problem of wiring the new Honeywell. I contacted the company that I ordered the Gas Valve from and they do not have wiring diagrams! Since the 2 valves look so different I do not want to get the wires crossed and blow my new valve. Suggestions where to get a diagram that I can tell from the wiring on the 36E22-202WR where to wire on the VR8215S1214??
