I have adopted a 7 month old Huskey / German Shepherd. I have had her for 3 days now. She does not eat that often and she elimanated in the lounge this morning. She follows my son and her little cousin everywhere, she complains and moans when I do put her outside. She moans , barks and scratches the door until we let her in. This morning she scaled the gate to come inside. She absolutely won't listen to me at all. I am not sure how to handle this or how to get her to listen to me or to be separated from the kids without her throwing these tantrums. I also need her to elimante on designated spots outside and not inside the house.

She's 7 months old. She's been taken from her surroundings and has no idea who you are at this stage! All she knows is that she's away from "home."

She needs time to adjust. Of course she doesn't know where to "eliminate."

Give her a chance to adjust. Watch her. When it looks like she has to "go," go outside with her. She may be thinking, "Be with the people and urinate here OR go outside by myself - ? I think I'll stay here with the people."

She's going to need some time to get acclimated.

Why did her other owners give her up?
