So recently my boyfriend and I have been going through a rough patch, and we've decided that we're going to try to work through it. I love him. I really do. But recently I've been talking with this guy (let's call him New Guy), and New Guy is the guy who I blew off 8 months ago to go on a date with my current boyfriend. Anyway, I recently started talking to him, and last night I even dreamed of him. And today, as hard as I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about him (and my boyfriend)... I know that he's interested in me, and deep down I know that I like him (I've been trying to ignore it.).

What the hell do I do? My boyfriend was my first everything, and I really love him. But I can't deny that I'm starting to develop feelings for New Guy. Ugh. I've always thought that I'd never be in this position.

I'm 18, by the way.

If you want it to work with your boyfriend, there's only one thing you can do: STAY AWAY FROM THE NEW GUY

Saying you've 'always thought you'd never be in this position' at 18 is pretty funny, because you are just starting! It is normal to change your mind a lot at your age. No one can tell you what to do, of course, but a certain amount of forthrightness is always good policy. Tell Old Guy that during the rough patch you started having doubts, despite promising to work it out. No need to say anything about New Guy. You need a break (assuming you don't live together). Pick some amount of time and say that's what you need, want, and are going to do.
Sure, you can end up with neither one, but that's one of the risks of life. Some of us jump from frying pans into fires, some of us stay in unhappy relationships, afraid to leave.
