I live in Kentucky I stole 300 dollars from my employer and they filed charges against me but I wasn't arrested. I got fired but they told me to wait until something comes in the mail to go to court. I told them I will pay back the 300. The only problem I have is will I go to jail. And also this will be my first offense I've never had a speeding ticket or anything.

Hi, buddy. I am sorry to hear that. But to be honest, you'd better surrender yourself to the law, and tell the police you will pay back the moey. In this way, you may not be sentenced in jail.
Good luck.

You have to wait to see what the letter says. You might have to go to court, or you might be able to pay restitution PLUS legal costs, often.

You should give back the 300 ASAP, regardless of what is said in the letter. Do it by check or some way you have a record of it.

I want to thank you for trying to help but :
We pride ourself in proper legal answers.
1. You can not surrender yourself to the law if there is no warrant. There is not even charges at this point
2. You don't confess to the police without an attorney, ever, the police are not there to help you and the police can not make a deal. Only the DA can make a deal
3. This is a minor about, while there is always a chance, it is almost unheard of for jail time for this small amount.

Please site your legal reference as to how you can turn yourself in, when you are not even officially charged.
