Hello, I have had my son exactly 1 year ago and had NO period. He is breastfed although donly feeds once/twice during day but about 4 tmes at night. There is no way I could be pregnant so is this normal to have gone this long with no period at all and is there any thing I can do or the doctor can do to get my period back please?
Thanks

My period did not return until I stopped breast feeding my children. Both times, it returned about 16 months after they were born.

Every woman is different. Some women don't have a period the entire time they're breastfeeding. Others resume their period once the baby is on solid foods. Then there are others that start while the baby is still breastfeeding and not yet on solids.
It's completely normal to not get your period while breastfeeding. One thing to be concerned about is the fact that you will ovulate before you get your period. That means that you can become pregnant even if you haven't had a period since you gave birth.
One way to restart your period is to start taking the birth control pill. That method has a bonus, as it is a birth control method. Even though no birth control method is 100%, it's better than hoping for the best. :)
