Hi,

Looking to put my deck grill on natural gas. Yes, I have used
Gas pipe / Black Iron many times, but not out doors.

Yes, I know I need a different or converted grill for natural gas
Instead of propane.

I will come out of the house, under my deck, then up to the
Grill. I will add a drip tee and a shut off.

None of this will be under ground. My concern is that the exposed black
Iron pipe will rust.

QUESTION: Will a simple painting of the pipe solve this problem?
QUESTION: If not, what’s a solution?

Thanks

If this were my concern I'd paint the gas pipe with Krylon Rust Proof Paint, Check it out at,
Krylon Rust Protector (http://www.krylonrustprotector.com/?sce=adwords) Good luck, Tom

No drip tee needed outside, but install a drip tee inside the house and pitch the gas pipe from outside toward that tee and cap inside... ;)

Rustoleum primer/paint is good option for rust as Tom pointed out!
