So about 3 to 4 weeks ago I got bit by a lot of mosquitos. For the past week to week and a half I have been sick. First I went to the doctors because my throat was hurting and they did a test and said I had a little bit of strep so they prescribed me with penicillin. Well the last day I took them I felt fine, but the day after I felt sick all over again. They said I didn't have strep anymore but it could be mono. So they gave me another test and it said I didn't have mono. I'm kind of worried that it could be west nile. Should I tell my doctor about all the mosquito bites I got. I counted the front side when I did have all of them and there was about 25 bites. I show most of the signs of west nile, mono, and strep, but the doctors said I don't have strep or mono.

DO you live in an area that has other victims of that?

Of course it doesn't hurt to mention that to the doctor. But the odds are its NOT West Nile but something unrelated.

Our village president (Chicago suburbs) died from West Nile a week ago. He did have cancer too which had compromised his immune system, but if I were you, I would definitely tell your doctor about the mosquito bites. I've read this is a bad time for that disease right now.

Yeah there is west nile in my state and I told the doctor but she wasn't concerned about it because I have congestion, so she doesn't think I have it. She just thinks I have some virus.

There's no med for a virus, so get lots of rest, water, and eat good foods.

Well my doctor did prescribe me some medication though but only for 3 days and I haven't been sleeping because of all the pain and I even tried zzquil and nyquil but both did not work. In the past 5 days I would say I have only got an 1 hour or 2 of sleep each day. I also haven't been eating properly because this sickness is making me fatigue.
