RIGHT BEFORE MY BLOWER BLOWS AIR (BOTH THE CENTRAL AIR AND HEATER) ON MY BRAND NEW GOODMAN BRAND FURNACE... it make this screeching/grinding noise for a couple seconds---then the blower kicks in and the noise stops. It ONLY MAKES THE NOISE RIGHT BEFORE THE BLOWER KICKS ON.

Are you possative it does it on heat and cooling, or does it just do it in cooling? If the unit is brand new, you need to contact the installer and have them check things out.

My wife and I hear it every time before the blower kicks on both the AC and heater. The installer looked at it and says it is just part of the goodman heater noise. They are going to replace the blower. I was just wondering if anyone out there has heard of a grinding noise on both heater and AC? It must be the blower- right?

Sure sounds like a faulty blower motor, and yes, I have see this happen before, not to many times on new units, but it does happen. Hope the new motor cures the problem, please let me know how things turn out.
