Hi. I'm 26 yrs old and I've been searching for my birth mother. I was adopted when I was 5 but my adopted mom don't want to give me the agency or info about the adoption... I was able to know what city and state I was born, my birth mother's maiden name and my original birth name. I'm just stuck on what I have to do next to continue my search... Im not after for anything but just to know who my real mother is.. and to know if she's OK... please help me... I've been physically abused by my adopted mother's son when I was growing up so I decided to join the military in a very early age... I served my country twice in afganistan and had 3 brain surgery due to war.. but god is with me and I survived and now going to school. I have no contacts with my adopted mom anymore.. please help me

Also to add... I was born in san bernardino, CA but adopted in las Vegas, NV

You can contact the courthouse in the county you were born. In some cases, you can get non-identifying information about your birthparents that way.

You can also post on reunion websites such as adoption.com and ISRR to try to connect with your birthmother.

Honestly, if you have the money to do it, hiring a licensed private investigator is your best bet, especially if you don't want contact but just want information.
