Every time I turn on the A/C to cool our home, the A-coil located inside our home freezes up on our Bryant 90% efficiency, MODEL#: ck5axa036017aaaa furnace. Once turned off to allowed to thaw, large quantities of water to drain out of and down into the unit. We have an AprilAire humidifier on the unit as well.
We have changed the filter (a spaceguard one), added freon, cleaned the outside A/C unit... but the coil continues to freeze up. PLEASE HELP Troubleshoot! At this point, we've spent over $300 and it is still NOT FIXED. Should we have the coil replaced OR ATTEMPT to clean it ourselves? It is very rusted along the front of the A-coil. Also, what can I expect to spend for an A-coil replacement and repair? Should the repair person be paid further since what he's done to this point has not helped? Thanks for any REPLIES to this plea.
