My landlord has a house that I have lived at for 2half yrs. It was in forclosuse before we signed the lease with him. Now he's getting ready to loose it, and wants to sell it at short sale. He told me we have till Sept 31st, to vacate in an E-Mail. Is this a viable process, or does it have to come from a Judge first for it to be leagal. Have been told this is an action to scare people out of their home before its really even relevant to.

First, it is not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion I've moved your post to its own thread. Second ANY question on law needs to incude your general locale as laws vary by area.
In case of a sale, the new owner have to honor your lease. If your lease has expired and you are a month to month tenant, the landlord can you give one month notice to vacate which it appears he has. Whether e-mail is legal or not depends on local laws.
As long as he remains the owner, the courts do not enter into your situation. I would plan on being out by 9/31.

Unless, of course, the lease expires sometime after that date.
